Backbones and vertebrae?

What if someone hits u in the back more or less hard, can this misalign a vertebrae? Are the vertebrae bones as strong as any bone in the body? what is the chance of misaligning a vertabrae with a human punch? would it hurt, would u feel anything different if u had a misaligned vertebrae? Can u have a misaligned vertebrae if u had a trauma in the backbone? Will this affect growth? any experiences?
