Danish oil all over my hands?

After reading many answers here on how to treat solid teak outdoor furniture, I opted for Danish oil (my furniture came up beautifully). My hands, however (there was no warning to wear gloves, before anyone even starts!) - my hands have a varnish coating. I tried fairy liquid, and also white spirit and white spirit/washing powder. Any ideas?
