What causes group b strep?

I have searched so many sites and all it says under causes, is that it is a bacteria found in the bladder, rectum and . Well, since all women don't have it then there has to be a cause. So how does a woman get group b step? No site seems to be straight forward on the cause and it really bugs me. Does anyone know how a woman gets gbs? Just curious cause I tested positive.
