My bro had sugery for appendicitis yesterday but his stomach still hurts is it serious?

How did they remove his appendix? I had mine removed through a tiny hole using a laproscope. They had to fill my abdomen with air to make room for all of the surgical tools. This air remains inside for a couple of days and is quite uncomfortable. If he had it done this way, then maybe that is the cause. I was so much better after two or three days.
