Benq monitor power is on but It has "no signal" How can I fix it?

I had an Envision monitor pluged in before. I want to change it to a Benq monitor(probably 5 years old). I plugged in the Benq monitor and I get "no signal". How can I fix it? The computer is about 2 years old
